If you’re enrolled in Original Medicare but are interested in learning more about your Medicare Advantage (Part C) options, it’s important that you understand the different types of Medicare Advantage plans. One option is the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan.
The Medicare Advantage PPO plan has a network of health care providers, doctors, and hopitals. You can use this network and pay less, but you also have the option of using out-of-network providers, typically for a higher cost.
PPOs will also provide the same coverage as Original Medicare (Parts A and B), and may also include additional coverage, such as:
Most PPO plans will provide coverage for prescriptions drugs, but asking the plan first will help you determine if the plan actually does or not. If you want prescription drug coverage, you must join a PPO plan that provides drug coverage.
WE’RE BUILT ON RELATIONSHIPS
We offer free claim support for life!
With a PPO plan, you don’t need to choose a primary care doctor. You also don’t need a referral to see a specialist, in most cases. However, keep in mind that regardless of who or where you need services from, using your plan’s in-network providers will save you more money than using out-of-network providers. If you are interested in a Medicare Advantage PPO Plan, give us a call today.
